LAWRENCEBURG – Only the fifth state finals qualifier in Lawrenceburg wrestling history, senior K.C. Hedger capped his record-setting career Friday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Hedger, 43-6 this season, lost a 19-8 major decision to the eventual state runner-up in his 170-pound weight class, Carroll (Ft. Wayne) senior Riley Lefever (49-2). “That kid was as good as advertized,” said LHS head coach Mark Kirchgassner. “K.C. was the first opponent to go the entire three rounds against him in the postseason. K.C. never backed down and made that kids work for everything. K.C. had one heck of a season.” To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
