In a busy session Tuesday, Feb. 19, the Greendale Redevelopment Commission heard a wide variety of progress reports, including the news that the long awaited Waffle House on U.S. 50 is now open and doing a booming business. Paul Gallenstein of Brookstone Homes, the company that has taken over the bankrupt Slopes of Greendale, told members that the existing building, which had been sliding and shifting, has been stabilized, renovated and is ready for sales to residents. He said the company expects to sell four or five units by summer and will eventually develop six or seven 11-unit buildings at its site near the intersection of Nowlin Avenue and Ind. 1.
