The Coaches vs. Cancer event brings cancer awareness and a charitable opportunity for area basketball fans, both young and old. High school and college basketball coaches across the nation participate in Coaches vs. Cancer to show solidarity in the fight against cancer.
Locally, the event will be presented by Margaret Mary Community Hospital and organized by the Southeastern Indiana YMCA, Batesville, Friday, March 8, Batesville Middle School.
David Hoover, Senior Program Director from the Y said, “Many of us have been touched by cancer. Coaches vs. Cancer provides an opportunity for us to stand together in support of the American Cancer Society while also having lots of fun.”
Coaches and staff from Oldenburg Academy, YMCA/MMCH, Batesville, St. Louis, Lawrenceburg, East Central, Greensburg and Milan Sshools will participate in a fun-filled evening of scrimmages. The first scrimmage begins at 5:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 and all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society and the Southeastern Indiana YMCA.
