CINCINNATI - College of Mount St. Joseph freshman guard Joel Scudder (Greendale, Ind./South Dearborn) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year in 2012-13 men's basketball.

Scudder and teammate David Mann (Fairfield, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) both earned Honorable Mention on the All-HCAC team for the season.

The 2011 SDHS graduate led the coach Toby Carrigan's NCAA Division III Lions in points per game (14.0), and three-pointers made (68).
