Submitted photo: A lung cancer survivor for almost 20 years, Wilma Baird recently celebrated her 82nd birthday. In 1999, Baird’s lung cancer was detected by a CT cancer screening at the hospital.

Highpoint Health offers life saving lung cancer screenings

Lung cancer is a deadly disease with the five-year survival rate for those diagnosed much lower than many other forms of cancer, including breast, colon and prostate.
