A spring thing

Volunteer Purdue Master Gardners and Dearborn County Historical Society board members mulched flower beds at the Vance Tousey House, Lawrenceburg, Saturday May 9. The Master Gardners have cared and maintained the beds at the Vance-Tousey house for seven years. The 200-year-old home features a “parterre” formal garden that faces the river consisting of plant beds, in symmetrical patterns, which are separated and connected by paths. The French parterre originated in the gardens of the French Renaissance of the 15th century. Photo by Jenny Awad
