Hospital HealthWalk benefits cardiac and pulmonary rehab
Highpoint Health’s Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department invites you to participate in its ninth annual 5K Heart & Lung Health Run/Walk Saturday, Sept. 29.
Proceeds from the event benefit Highpoint Health cardiopulmonary patients.
Held on Dearborn Trails, the 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) non-competitive run/walk starts atop the Lawrenceburg levee at the south end of Walnut Street.
The scenic Dearborn Trails path is mostly flat, paved and in places shaded by trees. Spotters are stationed along the course in case a walker or runner needs assistance.
Since 2010, the Highpoint Health Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department has sponsored the run/walk in partnership with Lawrenceburg Fall Fest, the City of Lawrenceburg and the Lawrenceburg Conservancy District.
Ivy Tech Community College-Riverfront Campus generously provides its facilities for pre- and post-walk activities.
Free parking is available at the City of Lawrenceburg Parking Garage at the south end of Short Street.
Registration price is $20 and individuals will be provided a T-shirt while supplies last.
Participants can pre-register online or by mail. The mail-in form and online registration link can be found at www.myhph.org/walk.
Online registration may be made by credit card and does not include additional fees. Last time to register online is Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Registration forms may also be picked up at the Aurora and Lawrenceburg Public Libraries, Aurora Recreational Community Center (ARCC), Dearborn Adult Center, Ivy Tech, the Lawrenceburg Community Center and the Highpoint Health lobby.
Same day registration and sign-in begins at 9 a.m. on the third floor of Ivy Tech Community College-Riverfront Campus, 50 Walnut St. The run/walk starts at 10 a.m. Light refreshments will be available and door prizes will be awarded. For more info go to www.myhph.org/walk.
