Library district director is speaker at senior luncheon

Whew! We made it through the heat! Coming up are cool nights and fall leaves.

Hooray for the coming of autumn with Old Friends & Bright Beginnings. We will gather together at Dearborn Hills United Methodist Churchat at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.

Drop your T-shirts & prepare for sweaters ... we are ready! And so is Snikkers & Peanuts our fab caterers from Batesville.

Who can resist Pork loin and all the trimmings? Yum. And how about chocolate cake or carrot cake - a sweet reward for enduring such heat, humidity and bugs. Oh yeah ... He knew what He was doing when He gave us change.

Thankfulness for another season will be delivered by our devotions specialist, Irene Estes.

But the height of the program will be provided by Barbara Bonney, director of the Lawrenceburg Public Library District. She will entice us all with new programs and services for the coming of “book reading time.”

And, this is a big “AND”... because she is bringing the new Book Mobile to our parking lot! So come one, come all.

Don’t delay; make your reservations by calling the Dearborn Hills United Methodist Church at 1-812-637-3993.

The office staff is there to assist one week in advance. Just a little nag ... but we must have your reservation to ensure the correct number of meals are prepared. It’s hard for Snikkers & Peanuts to judge overflow.

Meanwhile, our beloved “grand master” is back and in fine form.

Please welcome Shirley Greene for all her efforts and endeavors.  It takes a lot of planning and organization.

Last, but definitively not least, let us give thanks for one more year on God’s precious earth.
