Courtesy of Dearborn County Historical Society: Hogan Creek Bridge, prior to falling into the floes of the 1918 Ice Gorge catastrophe.  The bridge was reportedly raised out of the ice, reattached to its supports, and continued in service.  This bridge is very similar to the span that survives at Tanner’s Creek, including having the unusual detail of the first panel-point floor beam being attached directly to the side of the single eyebar hanger.  The overall strong similarities present suggest that this bridge was likely designed by Kellogg & Maurice as well.

Tanner’s Creek Bridge on the Dearborn County Trail

Indiana’s Dearborn County Trail that connects the cities of Lawrenceburg and Aurora largely follows the former right-of-way that was originally established by the Cincinnati & Southern Ohio Riv
