Lawrenceburg's Mason Parris (right) finished second in 110-meter high hurdles to Batesville's record-setting Garrett Wagner to advance to regional from Thursday's boys track sectional at East Central. Parris also led a 1-2-3 county sweep with his win in shot put.

 

EC senior Mark Bertke takes the elevator up en route to a new sectional record and pole vault win at a height of 14'6" in Thursday's IHSAA boys track and field sectional at East Central.

When asked what makes him a Student of Character, Aurora Elementary sixth-grader Breckin McCreary is notably modest.

“I try to be someone’s friend ... if someone is struggling with something, I try to help out,” said Breckin.

But that simple philosophy is why Breckin is respected and admired by so many people in his life.
