This morning, Wednesday, June 21, at approximately 8:40 a.m., the Indiana State Police responded to a three vehicle crash on U.S. 52 near I-74 which sent five people to Cincinnati area hospitals, said ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.

For years, Dearborn County has been scolded by the Indiana State Board of Accounts in audit reviews for sharing riverboat casino admissions tax revenue to various governmental entities.

By Denise Freitag Burdette: One boy was not about to give up his place as chief operator of a bulldozer.

Young and old alike attended Main Street Aurora’s “Hard Hat Hangout” Saturday, June 17, at which folks could explore, and sometimes work, various “big rigs.”

They also learned why calling 811 before digging is important, said Aurora Utilities Superintendent Randy Turner.

The Dearborn County 4-H and Community Fair continues through Saturday, June 24, with many favorites still to come.
Thursday will feature the dairy show at 4 p.m., and midway rides from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Marc Emral/The Journal-Press: Phillip and Cathy Piché are set to retire from the James P. Wismann Youth Home, Manchester, at the end of the month. They have been involved for more than 30 years. Next stop is an RV trip to see friends in Iowa and Kansas.

The RV was parked to the side of the building.

“We’re practicing, pulling it forward and backing it up,” said Phillip Piché, laughing.
