150 people evacuate from govt. center

On Monday, April 22, approximately 150 people were in the Dearborn County Government Center when the Sheriff’s office learned a potential threat had been communicated toward the courthouse, which is part of the complex.
 The entire campus was evacuated and locked down for about 2 hours and 15 minutes as Airport Police along with their K-9s searched the Government Center.
“Nothing was located,” said Sheriff Shane McHenry.
Public Safety Officer’s from the Creation Museum and their K-9s also assisted with the search, said McHenry, who took office for his first term in January.
The Sheriff’s department learned of the threat at about 10:54 a.m. The government center reopened at 1:15 p.m.
The Sheriff’s Department and Lawrenceburg police also assisted with the search.
McHenry thanked county employees and the public for their patience, and cooperation. He also extend his appreciation to all law enforcement agencies that assisted with the search.
McHenry would not reveal the nature of the threat or how it was made.
