Appeals on Wheels makes stops in Dearborn County and Ohio County
Indiana’s second highest Court will conduct two oral arguments in Dearborn County and Ohio County next week.
The first stop will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at South Dearborn High School. The panel will hear United Farm Family Mutual Insurance Company v. Stacy Matheny.
The next stop will be at Rising Sun High School at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. The panel will hear Larry Ervin v. State of Indiana.
It is the goal of the Court to visit all 92 Indiana counties with the Appeals on Wheels program. This will be the Court’s first time to Ohio County, leaving 10 more counties to visit.
The scheduled panel members are Judge John G. Baker, Judge L. Mark Bailey, and Judge Melissa S. May.
The oral arguments will conclude with a question and answer session with the students and audience members; however, the judges are unable to speak about the cases.
These events are open to the public and will last about one hour.
