Applications due for high school pitch competition
This year, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Ball State University and the Indiana Department of Education are teaming up to sponsor a high school student entrepreneurship competition.
Innovate WithIN is a statewide pitch competition for Hoosier students who have an idea for a business, product, service or other venture that helps Indiana sustain its economic momentum. Participants will receive feedback from experienced professionals while competing against like-minded students from across the state.
After completing video submissions and regional competitions, one innovator, or team of innovators, from 9 regions will be invited to Indianapolis to pitch their idea to a panel of judges for a chance to win $10,000, an internship, mentoring services and college tuition – up to $100,000 total.
During the first round, students submit a video pitch and executive summary of their idea by Feb. 10. Regional competitions will take place March 5 to 9 and March 12 to 16 at locations around the state. The final competition will be April 9 in Indianapolis.
