Donate blood at Hero2Hero drive
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati and Honor Flight Tri-State are honoring local heroes during the 10th annual Hero2Hero Blood Drive, scheduled from Thursday, Nov. 8 through Saturday, Nov. 10.
For the third year in a row, Hoxworth is sponsoring a group of veterans to fly with Honor Flight Tri-State, an organization that transports veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit their war memorials.
Hoxworth is asking eligible blood donors to support this cause by donating blood at a Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Center during the drive to make a blood donation and write a thank you note to a local veteran.
All thank you notes will be presented to Honor Flight Tri-State veterans who make the trip to Washington, D.C. in 2019.
All registered donors will receive a free “I Bleed Red, White & Blue” car decal as a thank you for their donation.
“Donating blood on Veterans Day is a fitting way to recognize the service of the brave men and women who put so much on the line for our nation,” said Alecia Lipton, spokesperson for Hoxworth Blood Center. “We are honored to partner with Honor Flight Tri-State once again for this lifesaving event, and hope that our donors will roll up a sleeve to show their appreciation for our armed forces.”
Appointments for blood donation are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Donors can schedule appointments by calling 513- 451-0910 or by scheduling online at:www.hoxworth.org/hero2hero.
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati was founded in 1938 and serves 31 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana.
