Help clean up U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg
You’re driving through historic Lawrenceburg, then a plastic bottle on the side of the room catches your eye.
Several fed-up fifth-graders from St. Lawrence School have answered the call by creating a civic action project in their Social Studies class. Students decided it was time to Help the Highway!
After researching the community problem, the fifth-graders contacted Mayor Kelly Mollaun’s office. They were thrilled when the mayor was interested in meeting with them to make their vision a reality.
These young citizens need your help too. Join them Saturday, June 22, from 8:30 a.m. until noon to help clean up the part of U.S. 50 running through Historic Downtown Lawrenceburg.
The Dearborn County Recycling Center will provide materials, and volunteers will receive a Help the Highway T-shirt.
Volunteers will meet in St. Lawrence’s back parking lot, and must RSVP to Lawrenceburg City Events Intern. Email firstname.lastname@example.org. Call 812-532-3552 for more information.
