Hoosier Environmental Council takes on area fly ash issue Jan. 29
Join the Hoosier Environmental Council and Dearborn County residents at a town hall meeting Tuesday, Jan. 29, to discuss the cleanup of the former Tanners Creek power plant property.
Among the legacies of the power plant are several coal ash lagoons that pose a direct threat to the region’s drinking water supplies, said HEC representative Tim Maloney, who will be guest speaker.
Open to the public free of charge, the meeting is scheduled for 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Ewbank Meeting Room of the Lawrenceburg Public Library, 123 W. High St.
A 35-year-old organization, the HEC is Indiana’s leading educator and advocate for environmental issues and policies, said Maloney.
