No weapons found in threat against ECHS
At approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, East Central High School, St. Leon, administration became aware of a threat against ECHS made on a student’s Instagram photo.
“Upon this notification, the student was immediately located and questioned. The student’s locker and bus were searched. No weapons were found,” said superintendent Andrew Jackson, Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools in an email to parents.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department detained the student and he was arrested. School administration will pursue the most severe consequence allowed by the school handbook and Indiana Code, he said.
“We take all threats to safety seriously. We encourage all of our stakeholders to say something if they see or hear something. While this report was verbally made to an adult, anonymous reports can be made through our monitoring program, Safe Schools Alert, “ said Jackson.
