Traffic switch, new signals planned

Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Paul H. Rohe Company switched traffic and activated new signals as part of the $1.3 million intersection improvement project at U.S. 50 and the new Greencomm Drive in Greendale.
Starting Monday, Sept. 30, the lane closure will move to the left lanes while crews construct the center curb at the intersection.
Additionally, on Wednesday, Oct. 2, new traffic signals will be activated at Greencomm Drive. Once the signals are working, the southern westbound portion of Greendale Plaza Drive will be closed at U.S 50 for median construction.
Eastbound traffic only will be able to access Greendale Plaza Drive until median construction is complete.
Both eastbound and westbound traffic from U.S. 50 will have access to the businesses along Flossie Drive via the new Greencomm Drive intersection.
This traffic pattern is expected to be in place for two to three weeks.
Work also continues for the City of Greendale’s project near the same location that will connect the intersection project to existing city streets. This work is being completed by Dave O’Mara Contractor Inc.
Motorists should expect delays in the area due to lane closures and exercise caution in and near the work zone. A 45 mph speed restriction remains in effect. The project is expected to be complete by mid-November.
All work is weather dependent.
