Celebrate the season with a small town stroll during the Moores Hill Winter Walk
Take a stroll through the historic, quaint little town of Moores Hill celebrating the fourth annual Winter Walk from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.
But if you arrive early, take the opportunity to stop by the craft show in the upstairs activity room of the Moores Hill American Legion, open from 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be soup and cornbread and other regular menu items available for purchase.
At 5:30 p.m. a tree lighting at American Legion Park and luminaries will light up the town and officially kick off the event.
Emcee Todd Russell will offer a prayer and enjoy music with Chris Meyers and carolers. Partake free hot chocolate and funnel cakes while warming up by the fire pit.
There you can pick up a Christmas card to be stamped at six different stops along the walk to earn a free ornament featuring the Moores Hill United Methodist Church.
The stops include the gazabo at Legion Park, the senior building, United Methodist Church, Moores Hill Baptist Church, Carnegie Hall and the town hall.
There will be crafts for kids, treats and caroling by the Luckhaupts and friends at the senior center. Get your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus and receive a free 4 by 6 photo. Children also will receive a treat-filled stocking.
Stop by the United Methodist Church for a cookie and to enjoy the Christmas decorations. The Baptist church also will have decorations and music. They also will offer complimentary refreshments including hot dogs, chips and drinks.
Fire pits will help you keep warm along the way at Carnegie Hall and the corner of Manchester and Main streets.
