UPDATED: Police seek more info in HVL homicide

Indiana State Police continue to investigate the Memorial weekend homicide that occurred on Highridge Court in Dearborn County.

On Monday, May 28, Thomas Biedenharn, 73, was found deceased in his residence in the Hidden Valley Lake subdivision.

An autopsy later confirmed that Biedenharn was the victim of a homicide.

ISP detectives now seek the public’s help in identifying the owner of a vehicle that may have been spotted in the area around the time of the homicide.

The vehicle is described as a newer model four door or extended cab truck that was “electric or bright blue” in color.

Anyone that may have seen a truck matching that description in the area over the Memorial Day weekend is urged to call the Indiana State Police, Versailles-Criminal Investigation Division at 812-689-5000.

Anyone providing information about this homicide may remain anonymous.

On Monday, May 28, at about 2:15 p.m., ISP and Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department were called to an address on Highridge Court in Hidden Valley subdivision when Biedenharn was found deceased inside his residence.

Evidence at the scene indicated the death appeared to be the result of foul play, and an autopsy conducted Wednesday, May 30, in Hamilton County confirmed the death as a homicide.

ISP is being assisted by the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department and the Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Indiana State Police is currently conducting a homicide investigation after a Lawrenceburg man was found deceased in his home on Memorial Day, said Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.

On Monday, May 28, at approximately 2:15 p.m., the Indiana State Police and Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department were called to an address on Highridge Court in the Hidden Valley subdivision when Thomas Biedenharn, age 73, was found deceased inside his residence.  Evidence at the scene indicated the death appeared to be the result of foul play, he said.

An autopsy was conducted yesterday, May 30, in Hamilton County, Ohio.  The autopsy determined that Biedenharn death was the result of a homicide, said Wheeles.

No arrests have been made at this time, he said.

The Indiana State Police Criminal Investigative Division is currently investigating the homicide. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to call the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post at 1-812-689-5000.
