Mildred (Millie) Hornbach passed away at her home in Venice, Fla., June 8.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles W. Hornbach the love of her life. She is survived by her devoted loving granddaughter Michelle (Missy) Montgomery of Venice, Fla.; also one daughter Beverly of Venice, Fla., and two grandsons Mark and Michael of Venice, Fla.
Millie was a very loving grandmother leaving six great-grandchildren, three of which she helped raise Sean, Sadie and Sutton, and will leave a lasting legacy of love. She also leaves several nieces and nephews of Lawrenceburg.
Mrs. Hornbach has been involved in politics for many years, along with her late husband who was mayor of the City of Lawrenceburg and also served 16 years as councilman.
Millie as most people called her served eight years as clerk of circuit court for Dearborn County and eight years as county recorder. She then was asked to run for Lawrenceburg City Council and was elected and served two and one half years for District 4.
Millie was past president of Women’s Democrat Club, past president of Fire Company No. 2 auxiliary, She also served as a Pink Lady for 32 years at Dearborn County Hospital. She was a member of St. Lawrence Church, Hilllforest Museum, Dearborn Adult Center, Wildlife Association and a big help to many animals that had no home. She will be laid out at Fitch Denney Funeral Home, Greendale.
Donations in Millie’s memory may be made to PAWS, St. Lawrence Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All very dear to her heart.
Family and friends will be received Friday, June 15, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lawrenceburg, Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Father Peter Gallagher officiating.
Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Ind.
