LADY KNIGHTS SHOOT DOWN SC IN RIVER TOWN

AURORA - South Dearborn girls basketball laced up its shooting shoes for a 62-44 first round victory over Switzerland County in the River Town Classic opener Wednesday night, Jan. 2.

South Dearborn High School girls varsity soccer senior Alyssa McClanahan (seated, center) recently signed an NCAA Division III letter of intent with Mount St. Joseph University, in Cincinnati. Joining her, also seated, were parents Dave McClanhan and Kathy Miller. Second row, from left, are SD athletic director Ryan Walston, Lady Knights head coach Bob Matola and SD principal Dr. Jeff Bond. Alyssa scored eight goals with seven assists as a key player for SD Class 3A sectional champions this past season. Currently, she also is a fourth-year starter for the Lady Knights basketball team.
