INDIANAPOLIS - Lawrenceburg and South Dearborn will be among seven of the eight Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference football teams taking part in the Southeastern Showdown 4-game set at Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday, Sept. 7.
South Dearborn's Knights, 8-3 a year ago, take on defending EIAC 3A division champion Batesville (9-3 in 2018) in the third game of the day at the home of the NFL Indianapolis Colts. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
Lawrenceburg's Tigers, aiming to improve on last year's 5-6 season, meet non-conference rival Milan in the fourth and final Showdown contest, set to kick off at 8 p.m. Milan's Indians, 6-4 last season, return to the IHSAA Class A playoff division this fall, dropping from 2A.
Southeastern Showdown opens Sept. 7 with a 12 noon kickoff between Greensburg's Pirates (3-7 in 2018) and Connersville's Spartans (0-10).
Rushville's Lions (5-5 in 2018) and Franklin County's Wildcats (2-8) square off in the second of four games, scheduled for a 2:45 p.m. kickoff.
Lawrenceburg's last Lucas Oil Stadium appearance came in the 2016 Class 3A state championship game, when the 13-2 Tigers finished runner-up to Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran.
Previously, LHS defeated Franklin County 54-27 in a regular season showcase game at "The Luke" in 2013.
South Dearborn will be making its first Lucas Oil Stadium appearance, having last seen action in the state capital in 1997, during the EIAC Day At The Dome in the Colts' original RCA Dome stadium.
Batesville and Greensburg played in a high school regular season showcase event at Lucas Oil in 2016, while Milan took on Indian Creek in regular season play there during the 2010 season.
Price per ticket to the Showdown is set at $12 and will be good for all four games. Showdown t-shirts will be sold by each school for the event.
