14TH TROJAN TROT 5K SATURDAY AT ST. LEON
ST. LEON - East Central High School's 14th annual Trojan Trot 5K Run/Walk picks up the second leg of the 2019 Southeast Indiana Racing Circuit (SIRC-it) 5-race summer series this Saturday, July 20.
A fund-raiser event for the Trojans' boys and girls cross country teams starts at 8:30 a.m. at St. Leon American Legion Post 464.
The 3.1-mile road race follows a rural course that makes a circuit on relatively flat paved county roads from the Legion Post and back.
Race day registration, which begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Legion hall will be $25, including a t-shirt, while supplies last, or $20 without the t-shirt.
5K Run awards go to the overall male and female winners, plus awards for the top three finishers in each male and female age group, including 12 & Under, 13-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69 and 70 & Over.
5K Walk medals will be presented to the overall male and female winners, plus the top finishers in each of the age groups listed abov.

The Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit is a series of five races run in Southeastern Indiana which supports cross country programs at local schools.
Runners and walkers who participate in four of five SIRC races get their name entered in a drawing for cash prizes at the series finale, Batesville's 19th annual Bulldog Chase 5K Saturday, Aug. 10.
The 2019 SIRC-it continues with Brookville's 10th annual Lakeside 5K follows Saturday, July 27, at Franklin County High School.
Milan's Indian Trails 5K Run/Walk follows Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Milan Elementary School.
