EC SPIKERS CRUISE TO 3-0 WIN VS. KNIGHTS
ST. LEON - East Central volleyball moved to 2-0 on both the regular season and in Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference play, cruising to a 3-0 win over visiting South Dearborn Thursday, Aug. 16.
Varsity Lady Trojans posted game scores of 25-6, 25-17, 25-12 behind 13 kills on a perfect 18-18 attacking by returning conference MVP Mack Ewing.
"It was a good game for us," said EC head coach Cassie Laker. "The girls played hard and were willing to take risks and try new things we had been working on at practice the night before.
"We didn't always execute those things, but they were willing to try and push themselves to do it better each time. That's what I was looking for in this match."
Junior Brilan McCory heated up for eight kills in 18-20 attacks, while Molly Gregg added six kills in 9-9 spike attempts and Bailey Grunkemeyer put away five on 10-13 attacks.
