EC Athletics

East Central High School head football coach Jake Meiners and wife Alicia welcomed the arrival of a new future Trojan to join their family, a son, Landry William Meiners, born July 3. He joins sisters Quinn, age 2, and 1-year old Oakley at their St. Leon home. "Wife and baby are doing well," EC's 28-year old coach Tweeted. "Our basketball team is complete." (EC Athletics)

South Dearborn's Jay Malott (left), with a total of 352 wins as Knights varsity baseball coach for the past 25 years, was honored with a plaque presentation by athletic director Ryan Walston at the team's postseason banquet June 24. With a total of 30 years with the program, Malott led SD to a 20-8 mark and EIAC and Class 3A sectional championships this season, as well as the Charlestown Invitational tournament title. He was named an assistant coach to the Indiana South All-Star team for the IHSBCA North-South All-Star Series, played at Madison, as well. (SD Athletics)
